Who we are

We run several year-round projects that look at identity, personal stories, writing in schools and heritage with a focus on empowering and confidence building in regard to telling stories. Alongside this is WoWFest, our month-long annual literary festival. We invite our audience to engage with crucial questions, diverse cultures and new ideas across Liverpool whilst bringing new talent and well-established authors into our city to talk about their books, lives, and experiences.

What we do

With our extensive writing development programme, we develop literacy in schools. We encourage and excite writing in the classroom as we engage pupils with various projects including heritage projects around our George Garrett and Great War to Race Riots archives, along with a Superheroes project which enables children to look at the world they live in and find a way to change the world for the better. All of our projects end in a publication the school and its pupils can be proud of.
