Who we are

Victoria Baths is widely recognised as Britain’s finest historic swimming pool – built between 1903 and 1906 and featuring a wealth of stained glass, tiles and mosaic floors. It was closed in 1993 but is now partially restored and opens between April and October each year as a heritage visitor attraction, arts and education venue. Victoria Baths is a memorable and inspiring venue for educational visits and projects. It appeals to a wide age range, in particular key stage 4 and post 16 students studying creative arts, architecture or history. The team at The Victoria Baths can provide guided tours of the building tailored for any age group, and are happy for groups to spend time drawing and photographing. They get many repeat visits from art foundation and photography students who get great benefit from using the building as a subject for their work. Victoria Baths is also used by Travel and Tourism students to inspire creative writing and by sound students who can experiment with its unique acoustics. It provides a very special setting for dance and drama projects too.
