Who we are

Toxteth TV is based in the heart of the local community. Its aim is to support creativity across the North West through creative learning programmes for marginalised and hard to reach groups. As a venue for school groups, Toxteth TV has a range of rooms including well-equipped classrooms and a versatile professional TV studio, which can be set up to record televised debates, talk shows and performances. Media training - including animation, web design, narrative and documentary filmmaking, screenwriting, sound recording and TV production - is delivered to school groups, young people and adults by a pool of trusted media professionals. This range of creative media activities supports curriculum areas including literacy, maths, ICT, and science, with a special focus on environmental projects. Partnership working with other media organisations (such as Soap Box Films), local agencies and national funding bodies, allows Toxteth TV to devise projects for young people with exciting and valuable outcomes. For example, “The Keremy Vile Show”, the result of a Home Office funded project looking young people at risk of involvement in gang culture, involved several organisations collaborating with a local secondary school to plan, script and perform this spoof talk show.
