Who we are
The Dock Museum in Barrow in Furness is a modern local history museum built over an historic Grade II listed dry dock. The museum tells the story of the history of the local area, including the growth of shipbuilding in the town.
What we do
The Dock Museum is a wonderful educational resource for schools and pre-school organisations. Areas of the National Curriculum that can be covered by our services are: Early Years, Mathematics and History All our services to schools are free of charge. Our tours and workshops dates have been programmed up to Christmas and schools emailed with booking information. To find out when our next available tours and workshops are please email or phone the Dock Museum. Group leaders can also devise their own visit. We recommend a donation of £20 per school visit.
