The Bread and Butter Theatre Company

Who we are

The Bread and Butter Theatre Company are a street theatre company based in Ulverston who have performed at such diverse venues and events as the Commonwealth Games, the village halls of Shetland, the Millennium Dome and in May 2010 they entertained the crowds at the World EXPO in Shanghai. The company’s strength lies with the performers’ ability to improvise and interact with members of the public, creating an organic, accessible and personal piece of street theatre for people of all ages. Bread and Butter run structured, individually tailored workshops in schools focusing on drama, circus skills and all aspects of performance. A workshop or series of workshops will usually culminate in a celebration performance, however their main passion is to develop the performance skills of students in order to raise confidence and self-esteem. The Bread and Butter Theatre Company has extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults of all backgrounds, abilities and behaviours.
