Who we are

The Atkinson is a unique, multi-artform venue situated in the heart of Southport, offering a varied destination for families, cultural tourists and schools. We have a range of facilities including a state of the art theatre, studio and cinema, museum, galleries, library and a number of learning and community spaces including a children's centre.

What we do

We present a rich and varied programme for schools spanning music, history, art, literacy and drama. A range of workshops are available to book led by professional artists, musicians and experienced history educators. Our Discover Ancient Egypt sessions are particularly popular. We offer outreach, free resources, CPD sessions and theatre for schools. We also specialise in offering bespoke sessions for SEN groups.
