Tameside Libraries

Who we are

A network of 8 libraries, providing something for everyone to help with work, study and leisure. We have books for adults and children, books in large print and in community languages, talking books, language courses, DVDs and computers for public use. Our trained staff will be pleased to help you with your reading enquiries and information needs and promote books, literacy and learning.

What we do

Tameside Libraries welcome classes of children to visit all our libraries. Our aim is that every child will feel that their local library is a friendly and welcoming place where they can explore books and get help and information that they need. We offer free, librarian-led class visits to every Year 4 class in Tameside, with a focus on encouraging reading for pleasure and inspiring a love of books and reading in the children.
