Who we are
Since being established, the North West Theatre Arts Company (NWTAC)has had a steady growth in members. The North West Youth Theatre School (NWYTS) comprises young people from the age of 7 to 21 from all areas of Greater Manchester. The school trains young people in all aspects of Theatre Craft; prepares them for working in the industry; teaches skills; encourages development and talent and above all never to forget to live, love, dream, believe. Members attend classes in which they are taught theatre skills, such as acting, singing and dancing by professional directors, choreographers, musical directors and theatre practitioners. They learn basic music theory, technical dance and drama terminology and technical aspects of theatre stagecraft. NWYTS members are eligible to audition for ‘in-house’ productions which include musicals, plays, concerts, revues and showcases. The directors aim to cast all Youth Theatre School members in at least one production per year but members can be involved in as many as eight productions a year. NWYTS members also have the opportunity to work professionally in festivals; for other professional theatre companies on stage; TV or Radio with theatrical representation provided for each member from the NWTAC team. North West Tehatre Arts Company (NWTAC) also tour productions and run supporting or entirely separate workshops in schools. NWTAC supply teacher packs, Q&As with the actors, director and writer alongside the touring productions. NWTAC have a variety of theatrically trained, experienced teachers who can run outstanding workshops at your school, educating in dance, drama, musical theatre, and technical theatre.
