Who we are
New Earth Theatre is a national touring theatre company that places British East and South East Asian (BESEA) artists and communities at the heart of all of our work. We bring the voices, stories and creativity of BESEA artists to audiences across the UK and beyond. As well as touring plays across the UK and internationally, we train the next generation of BESEA theatre creatives via our flagship academy courses and deliver creative cultural workshops in schools and community settings.
What we do
Immersive & engaging, our workshops for schools aim to bring additional cultural awareness and understanding of East and Southeast Asian culture by drawing on traditional stories, myths, customs & traditions. We offer a variety of workshops from drama & interactive storytelling to traditional folk dance, mask making, shadow puppets, calligraphy & even K-POP dance! For secondary school pupils we offer Mandarin Through Drama workshops. All our facilitators are of East/Southeast Asian descent.
