Who we are

GW Theatre Company are one of the best touring theatre companies in the UK. The company specialises in the production of entertaining and gripping theatre that deals unflinchingly with pressing social issues that touch us all. With a combination of theatrical verve and passion and humour GW has built a reputation for engaging, provoking and moving audiences with intensely humane and intelligent plays. GW Theatre productions usually last 45-55 minutes and are always followed by ‘hot-seating’ sessions in which characters from the play return to be ‘interrogated’ by the audience on their actions and behaviours. All plays are supported by pre and post-lesson outlines and increasingly by web based resources. The company tends to tour across full local authority areas working in partnership with local authority and with funding in place – so schools rarely have to use their own budgets. GW’s work can be used a catalyst to engage or to support existing or on-going work, but it can also be used for awareness raising and training work with professionals. We create a safe space for thinking, debate, learning and change. As well as touring GW Theatre can respond to specific commission ideas and ideas for creative projects with young people, including bespoke mentoring and training work.
